At the same time there was a tremendously violent summer storm brewing. The lightning and thunder was so frightening while being deafening at the same time that it terrified me even more than I already was! The rain started hammering down so hard that the talcum power like dirt of the baseball field instantly became nothing more than inches of thick oozy sludgy mud and scummy like mud puddles were everywhere! I slipped and fell on my back and became completely engulfed in mud while trying desperately to get up! I had the feeling of being swallowed up by the mud! I kept slipping and sliding in the mud while falling down over and over again!

While lying in the mud crying uncontrollably I asked, “Please, Jesus help me, Please!”

I was frantically struggling to get up out of the murky mud while the pounding rain was making it even more impossible for me make it to the side road. Jason hadn’t come after me yet, he stayed in the van. Thank God he did, because I was so horrified about what had just happened to me! I was more afraid of Jason then I was the monstrous thunderstorm that was blasting through the area at the same time! Finally I made it off the baseball field and onto the side road which was halfway to where the phone was where I could call for help.

And then suddenly, I heard an earsplitting sickening “POW POW!”  It was the explosive sound of a sawed off shot gun going off just behind me. My immediate impulse was to rapidly swing my body towards the sound to see what it was. I witnessed right away oncoming headlights veering around the curve aimed directly at me, aggressively speeding towards me! I bolted as fast as I possibly could towards the gas station where the phone booth was. I knew this was my only hope! I dug my feet into the ground and tried my best to make it to the station before the headlights got to me! But the headlights and the repeating shooting sound was much faster then I was and caught up to me! With high beams on, the headlights of the vehicle were now intensely glaring directly on me and the vehicle slowed down to a snail’s pace from behind me.
